Workshop Fitter

Description 

A leading plant & tool hire company have partnered with Chantler Recruitment to search for an experienced workshop fitter to become a part of their well established team. As part of the highly valued workshop based team, you will be responsible for ensuring that a high percentage of our equipment is available for hire, working closely with the office, warehouse and driving teams. You will be fault-finding, maintaining and repairing a wide range of small tools, plant and machinery, as follows:

• 110V and cordless power tools (hammer drills, grinders, saws)
• 110V/240V site equipment (high-frequency pokers, dehumidifiers, dust extractors)
• 2-stroke and petrol equipment (cut-off saws, mixers, power floats) 
• Diesel plant (generators, compressors, pressure washers)
• Air tools (breakers, picks, scabblers)
• Hydraulic equipment (power packs, pallet trucks, jacks)
• Mechanical equipment (material lifts, chain blocks, access platforms)

Key skills

• A proven track record of repairing plant and tools
• The commitment to learn about the business and range of equipment
• The ability to prioritise, work quickly and pay attention to detail
• An organised and methodical approach
• A good level of numeracy, literacy and IT skill
